Magnificent, tragic, enlightening... This historical fiction book was profoundly moving and haunting. I appreciated the two perspectives alternating between flashbacks of 1942 and present-day, and felt that they were tied together quite eloquently. It is a book that I often recommend without reservation, and one that will surely stay with you for years to come.
