๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ถ The Snow Child, By Eowyn Ivey

This read like a charming fairy tale for adults. The setting was majestic; the characters were rich. The author did a magnificent job of describing everything in such fine detail: the bitter cold that Alaska is known for, the picturesque views of the Alaskan wilderness, and the myriad of wild animals they would encounter there on a regular basis.

I fell in love with Esther, Mabel's one and only true friend. I just loved their interaction; sweet and demure Mabel really needed the unceremonious and candid friend she found in Esther.

I have to admit, the predictability was a bit frustrating, and the suspension of reality was certainly necessary throughout.

Overall, it was a magical, heartfelt, well-written story that was wonderfully seasonal! It's the perfect type of book to read near the fire on a cold winter's night. Kudos to the author on a delightful debut.
