πŸ‘ΆπŸ‘Ά Sparkly Green Earrings, by Melanie Shankle

Although I’m sure her blog is funny, when such content is translated into a memoir, it comes across as superficial and contrived. No matter how many friends and family members have told me I should write a book about my wild parenting adventures, I refuse to follow such baseless advice. Ms. Shankle, however, did not consider her limitations, when those close to her gave the same advice. I’m sure that she also realized that successful blogging translates to successful book sales. However, in my humble opinion, it is key to realize that any individual with a successful blog, does not an amazing author make, as evidenced in this memoir. Yes, there were somewhat humorous stories, but they were the type of memories one should recall at a family reunion, or on …wait for it… a blog!!! The humor was just inauthentic and forced.

Perhaps another issue was that she read her own book on Audible, and her narration had very little inflection. This made, what is usually a stimulating experience, rather dull.

Let's just say that I’m glad this was a deeply discounted purchase on Audible.
