Everything I Never Told You

Although this novel was well-written, it was a mid-range read for me. The storyline was just fine, but nothing stood out to me as extraordinary. The language was a bit drawn out where it didn't need to be, and it just wasn't deeply affecting.

It was hard for me to understand how so much attention could be focused on one child in the family, and yet the parents were completely clueless as to what was actually going on in her life. Apparently, the dysfunction was such that this is how it manifested?

The reveal was anticlimactic, and easily foreseeable, so there wasn't much suspense in the novel either. However, on a positive note, I appreciated the theme of identity as well as the revelation that living vicariously through your children is never a good idea.

Read 2/12/18
