This seemed to me, a story of maturing, of the realization as we grow older, that our mother actually did indeed have wisdom in her words and deeds. This awareness often surfaces despite the fact that, growing up, we were blind to her good judgement. So although there was nothing earth-shattering about the message the author relayed, it was a good reminder, nonetheless.
I so appreciate Ms. Corrigan's ability to speak to her audience as a confidant, so that by the time the reader has finished one of her books, she seems like an old trusted friend. This is the lovely ease with which she writes.
