πŸ‘ΆπŸ‘ΆπŸ‘Ά The Golden Son, by Shilpi Somaya Gowda

This novel had such potential, but ultimately fizzled for me. I was fascinated by the traditions and cultural norms described in the story, and ultimately this is why I rated it with 3 stars. But the characterization was weak, and the storyline insubstantial. I feel like it had the makings of a compelling novel, but never took a remarkable enough turn. 

However, I appreciated the feeling the author elicited, as I followed Anil's journey beginning with his childhood in India to his eventual immigration to the United States. Unfortunately, I’d be hard-pressed to say that this particular journey fully maintained my interest.
