Half a Heart

This was a very simply-written, sweet story. The author did an excellent job of keeping me interested throughout, and I enjoyed the characters. By the same token, those characters were somewhat one-dimensional, and did exactly what I expected throughout the novel. So, it was predictable and basic. However, it was a quick read, with a charming cast (aside from the repulsive father), and a virtuous message throughout.

It was certainly a much-needed respite from the other grim novel I'm currently reading.
