๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ถ The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, by Rebecca Skloot

Absolutely, positively intriguing!!!  I am all-at-once astonished and resentful that I never learned anything about HeLa cells as a youngster in science, nor do most students today.  Without Henrietta Lacks' unknowing contribution, the incredible scientific advancements that have been made thus far would never have been successful.

Because of the fetching title, I initially assumed it was a fictional novel.  So, as you can imagine, the content truly blew my mind in more ways than one.  Kudos to Rebecca Skloot for taking her readers on this journey, and enlightening us with this oh-so-important scientific history.  I also welcomed her explanation of how she became involved in this odyssey herself, as it made the story even more engaging.

So many moral and ethical principles are brought to light in this story, and it truly gave me a different perspective of the current laws and regulations in our current health system.  It's a book that is certainly worth your time, and will keep you turning pages quickly until the end.
