My Dear Hamilton: A Novel of Eliza Schuyler Hamilton

Having been a huge fan of the Broadway play, Hamilton, I was thrilled to see that Stephanie Dray and Laura Kamoie had once again joined forces to write this story. Written from the perspective of Eliza Schuyler Hamilton, the reader is taken on a journey of her life before, during, and after her marriage to Alexander Hamilton, one of the most important political figures in our nation's history. The authors portrayed Eliza (referred to as Betsy for most of the novel) as a strong, steadfast, intelligent woman, who stood by Alexander's side through thick and thin.

The novel, albeit lengthy, was immersive and fascinating. I learned even more I didn't know about their story, and found myself researching to gain a broader perspective of this rich history.
