๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ถ The Extraordinary Life of Sam Hell, by Robert Dugoni

The Extraordinary Life of Sam Hell
Though I wouldn't say this novel was "extraordinary", it was certainly enjoyable. The story focuses on Samuel Hill, a boy born with ocular albinism, who suffers through tremendous bullying and hatred as a child. Robert Dugoni did a fine job incorporating the terror that bullied children face, and it broke my heart to witness sweet Sam's constant fear. I was especially glad that he had such loyal friends in Ernie and Mickie and that they stuck together through it all.
While The Extraordinary Life of Sam Hell is an underdog story with a sweet ending, I must admit several parts did seem a bit contrived. On the whole, Dugoni wrote a charming tale with lovable characters and I appreciated the wholesome message of the novel.
