Songs in Ursa Major

π‘Ίπ’π’π’ˆπ’” π’Šπ’ 𝑼𝒓𝒔𝒂 𝑴𝒂𝒋𝒐𝒓 was ALL OVER Bookstagram last summer and as soon as I learned it was based on the legend, James Taylor and Joni Mitchell, I was all in! What an intriguing story and a nostalgic look at the 70s music scene. JT is my all-time favorite singer, so I was a bit defensive reading this novel that is π’—π’†π’“π’š loosely based on his and Joni's lives (ain't nothin like the real thing baby🎢), but it was well written and compelling. And as most of you know by now, the whole sex, drugs, and rock & roll scene ain't my usual jam, but Emma Brodie conjured up authentic scenes that were very reminiscent of that time period. She definitely wrote a compelling novel with dynamic characters, so I can see why it became a Booksta sensation!
