Bravo yet again @backmansk ! Is there no end to your extraordinary talent?!

This 3rd book was by far the most emotional of them all. Backman is so insightful and is able to convey such intense feeling through his words; it's no wonder I highlighted half of it! It's a doozy at 673 pages, but don't let the length scare you; it's worth every second. As I've mentioned, he has such a keen awareness of what it means to be human. He hits the nail on the head every time with his reflections:

"𝑷𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 π’”π’‚π’š 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 π’‚π’ˆπ’† π’ƒπ’“π’Šπ’π’ˆπ’” π’˜π’Šπ’”π’…π’π’Ž, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓 π’Žπ’π’”π’• 𝒐𝒇 𝒖𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 π’“π’†π’‚π’π’π’š π’Šπ’”π’'𝒕 𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒆, π’˜π’‰π’†π’ π’˜π’† π’ˆπ’†π’• 𝒐𝒍𝒅 π’˜π’†'𝒗𝒆 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 π’‚π’„π’„π’–π’Žπ’–π’π’‚π’•π’†π’… π’Žπ’π’“π’† π’†π’™π’‘π’†π’“π’Šπ’†π’π’„π’†π’”, π’ˆπ’π’π’… 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒃𝒂𝒅. There were SO MANY quotes about parenting that I really just had to sit with for a while because they were so poignant:

"𝑰𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 π’‰π’π’”π’‘π’Šπ’•π’‚π’, 𝒂 π’˜π’π’Žπ’‚π’ π’Šπ’” π’π’šπ’Šπ’π’ˆ π’Šπ’ 𝒂 𝒃𝒆𝒅. 𝑡𝒐 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒕𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝒉𝒆𝒓 π’‰π’π’˜ π’Šπ’• π’˜π’π’–π’π’… π’“π’†π’‚π’π’π’š 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 π’”π’π’Žπ’†π’π’π’†'𝒔 π’Žπ’π’Ž. π‘Ύπ’‰π’Šπ’„π’‰ π’Šπ’” 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒂𝒔 π’˜π’†π’π’. Several had me in tears:

"π‘»π’‰π’†π’š π’…π’“π’Šπ’—π’† π’šπ’π’– π’Žπ’‚π’… π’˜π’‰π’†π’ π’•π’‰π’†π’š'𝒓𝒆 π’π’Šπ’•π’•π’π’†, π’šπ’†π’π’π’Šπ’π’ˆ π’†π’—π’†π’“π’š π’•π’Šπ’Žπ’† π’šπ’π’– 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 π’“π’π’π’Ž, 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 π’šπ’π’– 𝒅𝒐𝒏'𝒕 π’“π’†π’‚π’π’Šπ’›π’† 𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 π’•π’Šπ’Žπ’† 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 π’˜π’‰π’†π’π’†π’—π’†π’“ π’”π’π’Žπ’†π’π’π’† π’šπ’†π’π’π’” "π‘«π’‚π’…π’…π’š!" 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 π’Žπ’†π’‚π’π’” π’šπ’π’–'𝒓𝒆 π’Šπ’Žπ’‘π’π’“π’•π’‚π’π’•. I could go on, but instead I'll say that this trilogy and its characters left an indelible mark on my heart. Backman broke me down, then built me up... his words are so analogous to our human experience.

Many thanks to @atriabooks for gifting me with this incredible novel in exchange for an honest review.
