Okay, so here's a doozy for ya! I was so grateful to receive The Paris Secret from Read Forever Pub a couple months ago. I received it in the midst of a very busy time with a heavy reading schedule. So, I decided to go ahead and get the audio version on my new favorite app, Scribd! I finished it, truly enjoyed it, and proceeded to write my review. As I was writing it, I grabbed the book I was so kindly gifted, to jot down the author's name, and about fell out of my seat! I LISTENED TO THE WRONG NOVEL by the same name!!! Believe it or not, there are 3 books with the same title, all historical fiction! This one was written in 2016, the one I was SUPPOSED to read in 2018, and then one in 2020. WOT๐ฒ???!!!
Luckily, Karen Swan wrote an excellent novel! I flew through it and really connected with Flora, a fine art dealer caught in a web of secrets. I've never known much about the world of art dealers so this was truly an immersive and engaging novel for me. I also loved reading both storylines - one set in present day and one set during WWII. Ms. Swan included history, romance, and a bit of mystery too! There's even a moral/controversial dilemma that is brought into the mix. The twist was surprising, indeed!
So, ultimately, I'm glad I accidentally chose this book! It was well worth my time!
