๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ถ First Frost, by Sarah Addison Allen

Sadly, this novel was a bit nonsensical and contrived for me. With hokey quotes such as, "...when she thought of them together, how close they were, like they knew what was inside each other's pockets", and "her cheeks [were] pink as if she'd swallowed something bright and it was now glowing from within," perhaps you can understand my disinclination to give this novel a high rating.

The novel's summary seemed so intriguing, but instead it had a disheveled plot, weak character development, and a flaky concept. I never quite understood Allen's attempt at foreboding, which ultimately fell flat. I gave it 2 stars simply because the author did a decent job with the setting, and allowed me to visualize it in detail.
