๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ถ If I Stay, by Gayle Forman

This coming-of-age story was sweet, but not fully absorbing. I was unaware that it was a young adult novel until I began reading it, and it quickly became dreadfully obvious. It was a puerile piece of writing and the tragedy was revealed too early, leaving little to the imagination. I felt very little emotion after the initial aftermath of the accident and felt no connection with any of the characters. In addition, I am astounded that a YA novel would contain such vulgar language, and treat the subject of teenage sex with such disregard. I gave the book 2 stars simply because the pivotal scene in the beginning was gripping; had the rest of the book been written similarly, it would've been amazing.
