A BLOG FOR MOMMIES AND ANYONE ELSE WITH LIMITED TIME ON THEIR HANDS LOOKING TO READ AN EXCELLENT ARRAY OF NOVELS, WITHOUT HAVING TO SIFT THROUGH THOUSANDS OF TITLES.
๐ถ๐ถ๐ถ๐ถ๐ถ Me Before You, Jojo Moyes
What struck me as profound about this novel was how it proved to be a life-affirming book, despite its premise. It was an intelligent story that brought up a very controversial subject, and had the capacity to sway a reader in a direction never considered. It was very reminiscent of Dying Young, having a very similar storyline; however, somehow the author attained a depth that Dying Young was never able to reach. I loved the scope of emotion I felt; I was angry, confused, overjoyed, heartbroken, and finally fulfilled. The characters were so compelling, each one serving a very specific purpose in the novel; nothing in the novel seemed wasted. It was such a tribute to human dignity and I felt compassion for each of the characters unlike any I’ve felt before. Moyes did an exquisite job and deserves every accolade en route!
