This is a superb tribute to the triumph of the human spirit. It's one of those books that leaves you feeling eternally grateful for your blessings, but also brings to mind how much is taken for granted in day to day life. It's the shortest book I've ever read, having finished it in just over 2 hours. However, it was so poignant, so thought-provoking, so moving... truly a poetic masterpiece. I had no idea that this had happened to such a prominent figure in the fashion media industry. Bauby had a brilliant mind, and what an inspirational gift he left behind.
