๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ถ Orhan's Inheritance, by Aline Ohanesian

What an incredible debut novel, and an eye-opening piece of literature... I am befuddled that I never knew the history of this unspeakable genocide. I am so grateful to the author for bringing to light that which should be well-known, so that we, as a human race, can learn from the past. I was quite ashamed that I had no knowledge of the Armenian Genocide, but after some research, was shocked to find out that it is not something that is overtly discussed. It isn't highlighted in history books or spotlighted in museums; but it is a devastating truth that deserves our attention and respect, all the same.
The author wove a tail of sorrow and hope, one that I assume, echoed the feelings of many Armenians. The imagery was beautiful; the Turkish proverbs were edifying.  This was a very honest portrayal of love set against the backdrop of an unfathomable atrocity. Ms. Ohanesian has certainly made a formidable debut with this novel.
