πŸ‘ΆπŸ‘Ά Seven Years in Tibet, by Heinrich Harrer

I am almost embarrassed to give this world-renowned piece of literature two stars. Unfortunately, it just wasn't my cup of tea. The writing was almost mind-numbing, as there was just too much unecessary detail. Honestly, the story could have been much more captivating at half its length. Unless one has particular interest in that part of the world, or in studying the culture, I have a hard time understanding the appeal of such a comprehensive account. I listened to the story via Audible, simply because they offered it as a Daily Deal; and since I'd heard so much about it, I thought it'd be worth a listen. Sadly, I was glad not to have paid full price, since I felt the need to fast-forward through several ponderous parts. A bit more editing would have been beneficial to those of us just looking to hear about an amazing journey.
