๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ถThe Shack, by William Paul Young

Perhaps because most everyone said this book was so amazing, I had really high expectations, and was sadly disappointed. The novel did have a very strong message, and was therefore thought-provoking. However, I felt as though it was largely underdeveloped. I struggled with the fact that despite the devastating crime, there was never any true resolution to the question of suffering; nothing to dull the pain of the terrifying event. In other words, the original heart-wrenching subject matter is almost ignored through the last half of the book, and the author instead chose to focus on a metaphorical interpretation of the trinity. I will admit that some of the imagery was lovely, but other than that, it left much to be desired:-(.
