๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ถ 'Til the Well Runs Dry, by Lauren Francis-Sharma, by Lauren Francis-Sharma

First and foremost, I was impressed that this was a debut novel, and thought it was a truly interesting story. The characters were well fleshed-out, and the imagery was beautiful. I also learned a tremendous amount about Trinidad, and it's richly-layered history.

On the other hand, I struggled with the mรฉlange of ideas that the author was trying to convey. It almost felt as though she had so much to share, but had difficulty organizing her thoughts. Many of the story lines that were delved into, were left in abeyance for too long, and several were never picked back up again. It lacked a bit of cohesion.

However, writing the story from the points of view of three different characters was unique, and kept the narrative moving along at a nice, steady pace. My favorite character was Jacqueline, who was quite honestly, the only one with any redemptive qualities.

Overall, I applaud the author for her plunge into the world of fictional sagas. I was certainly taken on a fascinating journey.

I was lucky enough to have won this book through a Goodreads Giveaway from Picador Publishing, and gave my honest opinion in this review.
