๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ถ I Know This Much is True, by Wally Lamb

This novel is laden with depressing, heartrending, graphic content. It was difficult to stomach much of the novel, and yet, I cannot say it was poorly written. Mr. Lamb certainly does not mince words, but he does tend to get a bit long-winded intermittently throughout the novel. Although all of his content is relevant to the story he tells, not all of the material necessarily moves the story along. What is in excess of 900 pages, could have easily been 700 or less, and would have accomplished the same thing, with greater impact.

I rated the novel 3 stars, because although the content was dismal, Lamb has a knack for making everything come back full circle, and bringing the reader to an “aha moment” by the novel’s end (I threw that in for Oprah’s sake;-)). It wasn’t my cup of tea, nor was it a terrible book… middle of the road for me.
