πŸ‘ΆπŸ‘ΆπŸ‘Ά: Every Last Drop, by Sarah Robinson

Every Last Drop
Well, let me begin by stating that a 3-star review for me is still a solid, enjoyable book. However, it does mean that personally, it lacks a little something to make it one for the ages. Every Last Drop was a novel centered on the journey of a woman struck with terminal cancer and her decision to live life to the fullest and empower herself to the end. This was a story wrought with emotion, and yet I must admit I had a hard time connecting with the characters. Unfortunately, several of the scenes seemed contrived and lacked depth. To boot, it almost seemed as though there was too much unnecessary dialogue. I know that may seem like a strange gripe, but the first half of the novel was like a ping-pong match - constant banter back and forth with little substance.

I do believe that fans of Romance would like this novel because it had several scenes that would make the reader blush, but by the same token, it wasn't replete with them by any means. The subject matter is certainly controversial, and I will say little else in that regard in order to avoid spoilers.

Overall, it was a good novel that certainly made me think. And though the topic was profound, it lacked profundity in the writing that I expected after reading all the rave reviews.
