The Only Plane in the Sky: An Oral History of 9/11

This book, y'all... I can't even. I was only able to listen to it in small doses. It was so exquisitely done, yet so terrifying to relive, and such an amazing tribute to the lives lost on 9/11. I thought I knew all there was to know about this horrific tragedy, but boy was I wrong. This was an intimate look into the personal stories of survivors and it absolutely destroyed me.

The audio book includes gut-wrenching live recordings of flight attendants from the airplanes, 1st responders, Presidential responses, and other tidbits that I had either forgotten or chose to block out. Also, an amazingly large cast reads each of the entries.

Despite all of the sadness and heartache, it is SUCH an important read and I just can't recommend it enough. After I listened to it, I just had to buy the hardcover to keep in my library - I must admit, it has pictures that just tore me apart.

❓QOTD: Do you remember where you were when this devastating event took place❓ The memory is seared in my brain.
