๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ถ Proof of Heaven, by Eben Alexander

Absolutely fascinating... Dr. Alexander did a very good job of describing his experience and making it more tangible to those of us who have a hard time understanding near-death experiences. It made me want to learn more about our consciousness. I did however, find it a bit repetitive with respect to some descriptions, and also found other parts to be unnecessary (i.e. the prologue dedicated to a lengthy description on his former ability to parachute out of a plane in group formation, and his irrelevant account of his first vacation with his wife).

At the same time, the true content was almost too brief... leaving me grasping for something more at the end. I suppose I expected something more concrete to apply to the here and now. He did provide limited information on meditation, along with information on his non-profit organization to delve further into the topic. However, my assumption is that if one is to write a book on this subject, to delve deeper should be one of its main purposes. It also struck me that the names he used for his encounters: the Core, the Wormhole, the Gateway, the Girl on the Butterfly Wing, seemed almost forced. This didn't change his credibility for me in any way, it just seemed like it didn't fit the flow of the book, that perhaps the words were used in preparation for a movie or the like. Perhaps that was just his way of trying to make the experience more concrete for his readers.
