๐ถ๐ถ๐ถ When I Found You, by Catherine Ryan Hyde
This was a sweet story, but not one that engaged me emotionally. It had some sentimental value, but the characters lacked depth. More than anything, Nat's lack of common sense was frustrating. I understand that he encountered some truly difficult circumstances in his young life, but his inability to listen to anyone's advice was irksome, especially considering these people were all looking out for his best interest. My main grievance is that he was just unable to express gratitude for anyone's unconditional love, specifically Nathan's... until it was just too late. It also seemed to me that Nate's dialogue never matured along with his age; he still expressed himself in a stiff and unnatural manner well into adulthood. Overall, it was a decent read, but a bit lackluster.
